Is there constant draining from the reverse osmosis unit? That may mean something isn't working quite right. Let's do some troubleshooting to fix this issue.
1. Is the RO unit connected to an icemaker?
- NO - Continue to step 2.
- YES - The icemaker may be requiring water production. To check this, remove the postfilter and wait for the storage tank to fill (could be several hours). If it continues to make noise even after the tank fills, continue to step 2.
2. Is the storage tank full? You can tell the tank is full by picking it up. You'll notice it'll be heavy with water.
- YES - If the storage tank is full and you're hearing constant drainage or dripping, we recommend you replace the head assembly.
- NO - If the storage tank is empty, it'll weigh about 5 lbs. In this case, you'll want to head over to our article Reverse Osmosis Tank Not Filling to work on this.
