Has the homeowner noticed low water pressure with their faucet? There may be a clog or they may need new filters. Let's troubleshoot the issue. If it's a Reverse Osmosis system, please click here to troubleshoot, otherwise, continue on.
Before You Start
- Make sure the incoming water pressure is at least at 30 psi. Anything below that will slow down the system.
- Confirm the filters have been changed in the last 6 months. If it's been longer than 6 months, replace them.
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Go ahead and remove Filter 1 on the unit (each filter is labeled with a sticker). To do this, grab hold of the filter and twist it counter-clockwise until it disconnects from the Manifold/Head Assembly. (You'll leave the second filter on the system.)
2. On the Manifold/Head Assembly (where the filter was connected, pictured below), you'll see a white plastic poppet valve. The poppet looks like a 3-sided stem sticking out of the hole.
3. With your face out of the way, push the poppet in – you’re looking to see if water is spraying through these. Did you get a good spray of water from the poppet?
NO - Click here if there's NO water coming from the poppet.
If you don’t have water flow you’ll want to test the supply hose.
1. Now, you’ll turn the water off to the system and remove the feed line (yellow) from the Manifold/Head Assembly. To remove the line, push IN on the yellow port, and pull OUT on the hose.
2. Place the open end of the yellow line in a bowl and slowly turn the water back on. You're confirming there's good pressure coming through that line.
3. Turn off the water supply and reconnect the yellow hose, making sure it's secure.
4. With your face out of the way, push the poppet in once more. If there's still no water flow, it's likely the Manifold/Head Assembly is blocked and we recommend you replace it.
5. Make sure to reattach the filter by turning it clockwise and twisting it into place.

YES - Click here if there IS water coming from the poppet.
We'll need to check the other poppet on the system.
1. Now reattach that first filter by lining it up and turning it clockwise until it it's fully connected to the Manifold/Head Assembly.
2. Go to the next filter and remove it off the system by turning it counter-clockwise, like mentioned above. (The first filter will be on the system at this time.)
3. Again, with your face out of the way, push the poppet in – you’re looking for a good spray of water here. Are you getting a weak spray from the poppets?
- YES - If you're getting a weak spray from the poppets, your filters need to be replaced.
- NO - We'll need to check the blue hose to make sure there's not a blockage in the hose or faucet. Continue onto step 4.
4. Go ahead and reattach that last filter.
5. You'll need to turn off the water to the system.
6. Now, detach the blue hose. Open the filtered water faucet and now blow through the blue hose, confirming air can pass easily. If not, there is a blockage in the hose or faucet.
7. Next, place the blue hose into a bowl. Turn the water on to see if you're getting water flow through the filters. Then turn the water supply back off.
8. Reattach the blue hose onto the Manifold/Head Assembly. If you're still experiencing low water pressure, the filters need to be replaced.
