A stalled motor or constant draining can indicate a problem with the main valve assembly. This article guides you through repairing a 1” dual disc valve.
1. Check for an Error Code:
a. YES; Visit the Error Code article.
b. NO; Continue to #2.
2. If the water is leaking from the top (#1) or neck (#13) of the valve, visit the Valve Assembly Leak article.
If the motor is stalled, or the unit is constantly recharging or draining:
3. Before you service the valve, make sure the unit is not in a recharge cycle. Recharge will be indicated on the screen if it is currently in a cycle.
4. Bypass the unit to shut off water and depressurize.
5. Remove the retaining clips and clamps from either side of the valve. Remove the endcaps (#1 and 14) to access the seals.
6. Replace rotor/seal kit parts 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12 and 13. Make sure wear strip and seal are positioned correctly (#8 pictured).
7. Reassemble the end caps and retaining clips and clamps.
8. Restore the water to the unit and watch for leaks.
