To prevent the growth of mold and bacteria, we recommend periodically sanitizing your reverse osmosis system. This article provides easy step-by-step instructions for using Pro Products Sani-System to sanitize models ERO175, ERO375, and ERO385.

Record Feed Water TDS and Product Water TDS
Step 1. Turn off ice maker. Shut off water supply or remove Prefilter. Open RO faucet and drain product storage tank. Add RO product line tee and valve for flushing if needed.
Step 2. Remove Prefilter, Postfilter, and Membrane housing.
Step 3. Test air pressure (Schrader valve) in storage tank. Tank pressure should be between 4-7 psi. Add air pressure if needed.
Step 4. Add 1/2 RO Sanitizing packet to Prefilter sanitizing sump, 1/4 packet to sanitizing Membrane housing, and 1/4 packet to sanitizing Postfilter and install.
Step 5. Open feed water supply to RO system and run for 1 minute, then shut off feed water supply.
Step 6. Let sanitizer stand in system for ONLY 60 seconds.
Step 7. Open faucet (careful of air spurts) and purge until storage tank is empty.
Step 8. Close faucet and open feed water. Fill and drain system again to ensure sanitizer is out of system. Test TDS - should be the same as feed water TDS.
Step 9. Replace (in order) postfilter / re-use membrane* / prefilter.
*if boil alert replace all 3 filters, periodic sanitation re-use membrane
Step 10. Instruct customer to fill (2-3 hours) and drain one more time with new filters.
Instruct customer that water may be milky/cloudy (air) from filters being new.
Step 11. Instruct customer to turn on ice maker.
Step 12. Drain Sanitizing cartridges.
