Looking for some answers to your WiFi issues? Below you'll find some common situations that may occur and how you can handle them.
2.4 GHz Connection
Most WiFi routers have a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz connection. SMART devices, like our WiFi connected devices, are best suited for 2.4 GHz. This has a wider signal and helps ensure consistent connection.
It's best practice to connect to the 2.4 GHz network, especially if the homeowner is experiencing connection issues with their WiFi enabled device.
WiFi Signal Strength
In order for any WiFi connected device to maintain a stable connection, the device must be within a strong signal range of the router. We recommend at least 3 bars of signal strength.
Range extenders are a great solution for situations where the signal strength isn't strong enough at the install location.
Installation Best Practice
As a best practice, we recommend having your in-home sales person verify the signal strength at the install location while at the home. It creates a better customer experience if you come prepared to the installation with a range extender, if needed.
