Step 1 - Connecting the Device
1. The first step is to make sure the homeowner has downloaded the Hydrolink™ Home app and created their own account. You'll need their information to assign the device to the homeowner and the dealership.
2. Once the homeowner has set up an account, log in to the Hydrolink™ Home app then select the 'Connect' under the 'Add your first device' picture.
3. Next, you should see the steps on how to access the wireless set up on the unit. If this is the first time you've powered the unit on, you'll see the WiFi setup is one of the first steps. Make sure the unit in the WiFi setup mode then on your phone select 'Setup Device.'
4. The app will find your system, select 'Yes' once it's been identified.
5. You'll need to enter in the homeowner's email address that they created their account with. Then select 'Setup for User.'
6. Now select your WiFi and enter in your password. Then select 'Connect device to network'.
7. Once that's completed, fill out the information on the next screen and click 'Save and Continue'.
8. Next you'll be prompted to configure the display units, select your settings, and set up alert preferences (for you as the Dealer). It's recommended you select all alerts for email as this will notify your dealership when an alert occurs for a connected device. Fill out the information and select 'Save and Configure' when finished.
9. Now the device is set up. You'll know the device has successfully connected when you see this screen of the unit. Note: The DSN number is also the serial number of the unit.
Step 2 - Turning on Homeowner Alerts
Once connected, you'll want to ensure the homeowner has their alerts turned on.
1. To turn them on, the homeowner needs to log into the Hydrolink™ Home app.
2. If they're prompted to allow notifications from the app, make sure they select 'Allow'.
3. Have them select their device, and then select 'Manage Device'.
4. Then click on 'General'.
5. It's important to make sure on this next screen here that the box that says 'Shared with Dealer' is checked. If it's not checked, you won't be able to see the device on your Dealer account. If the device was paired via a dealer technician account, it should already be checked. If the homeowner paired the device themselves, they would need to go in and check this box and you'd need to contact Customer Service to have this device paired with your dealership.
6. Next, tap 'Back' and then select 'Alerts'.
7. Select the 'Notification' box for each section to receive notifications on their phone. Select the 'Email' if they'd like to additionally receive them in their email. Click 'Save' when complete.
8. We're all set! The homeowner's device will be connected to the Hydrolink™ Home app and your dealership will be able to see their device.
