Is the water softener continuously beeping? There could be a few possibilities of why this may be happening. You’ll need to look at the control board and try a few things. Let’s do some troubleshooting together to see what's going on.
1. Remove the top cover of the softener.
2. Identify the red Wire Harness connected to the control board and then detach it.
Did the beeping stop?
- YES – We recommend replacing the Wire Harness.
- NO – Proceed to next step.
4. Now you’re going to disconnect the motor. Follow the red and black wires leading from the control board to the motor and separate the white plastic connectors.
Did the beeping stop?
- YES – We recommend replacing the Motor and the Power Supply.
- NO – Proceed to next step.
5. Lastly, you’re going to check if the prongs on the control board are working correctly. Separate the control board from the faceplate. You can do this by prying the gray plastic tabs away from the corners of the board.
Once removed, flip over and push each of the colored prongs corresponding to the softeners buttons on the front of the control board. Try wiggling the prongs and pressing them at various angles to ensure none are stuck.
Did the beeping stop?
- YES – Great! You’ve just fixed the issue!
- NO – We recommend replacing the Control Board and the Power Supply.
